Licorice oil, also known as licorice root oil, is used in many skincare products to lighten the skin and treat dark spots. It also has several functional benefits, such as promoting digestive health and maintaining blood sugar levels. Licorice oil and its active ingredients: Licorice root contains powerful antioxidants that can neutralize the effects of free radicals from external environmental factors, such as sun and pollution. The presence of the compound licochalcone is also ideal for people with oily skin, as it helps control oil production. Glycyrrhizin, an active compound found in licorice root, possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Glabridin, another active ingredient in licorice root, also has anti-inflammatory effects and inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme responsible for hyperpigmentation. Its benefits and uses include: aiding in the healing of the stomach lining in cases of food poisoning, stomach ulcers, and gastritis; relieving stomach pain, nausea, and heartburn; helping treat peptic ulcers; acting as an expectorant and treating coughs, colds, bronchitis, and some lung diseases; being used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis; helping to lighten the skin and treat dark skin pigmentation; concealing dark spots, especially after acne, eczema, or sunburn; and relieving discomfort and inflammation associated with sunburn. How to use licorice oil: Internal use: Mix half a teaspoon with half a cup of water and drink 2-3 times a day. Alternatively, mix it with half a kilogram of honey and consume 2-3 times daily. External use: Steps for applying licorice oil to the skin: Wash your face with a cleanser suitable for your skin type and pat it dry gently without rubbing. Apply the oil to your skin and massage it in using circular motions until fully absorbed. Apply eye cream around the eyes, gently spreading it with your fingertips.
